Executive Director, The Bike Shop
University of Chicago & MIT
I am the Executive Director of The Bike Shop, a research lab spanning the University of Chicago and MIT, co-founded and led by Jens Ludwig and Sendhil Mullainathan. We are committed to building bicycles for the mind: algorithms that enhance human capacity rather than replace it. We bring together economists and computer scientists to tackle core social and computational challenges.
I continue to advise the Tools of Thought Initiative, which develops and tests metacognitive interventions to equip people with the cognitive skills they need to thrive in the modern workforce.
Previously, I conducted behavioral science research for public policy, co-founded a behavioral science tech startup, and was a management consultant at Bain & Co. I hold an MBA from Harvard Business School and undergraduate degrees in law and economics from the University of Sydney.
(Those em-dashes are all mine.)
